Tax Manager - International Tax

About the Position

The responsibilities of the Tax Manager position include working directly with other BNN tax professionals, our clients, and other advisors to prepare federal and state income tax returns. Managers participate in firm administration and leadership, including staff and firm development.

Competencies and Position Requirements

  • Excellent project management, analytical, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrates ability to manage tax engagements to a successful and efficient completion
  • Advanced knowledge of tax compliance and planning at both the federal and state level
  • Converses comfortably and professionally with various levels of client management
  • Prepare and review U.S. federal and state returns for U.S. residents, expatriates, and foreign nationals
  • Adhere to reporting requirements related to foreign income, foreign trusts, foreign tax credits, foreign assets, and controlled foreign corporations
  • Assist with preparation of IRS Streamlined and Offshore Voluntary Disclosure Program (OVDP) filings for clients disclosing foreign assets and income through IRS amnesty programs
  • Meets deadlines while meeting or exceeding quality requirements
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of tax preparation at both the federal and state(s) levels, including but not limited to returns of individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts
  • Demonstrates creativity and resourcefulness in resolving problems and preparing analyses
  • Prioritizes workload and assists staff in developing prioritization skills
  • Effectively supervise activities of the engagement team
  • Provides seniors and staff with timely, honest, and constructive feedback and serves as a formal and/or informal mentor to staff as appropriate

Education and Experience

  • Five or more years’ experience in taxation with a public accounting firm, 2 or more years specific to international tax
  • Masters or other form of 150 college credit hours with requisite accounting related courses (Bachelor degrees may be considered)
  • CPA certificate required

The expected salary range for candidates in the Massachusetts market is $112,682 - 169,023 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
